The final match of 2023/24 was played at Banbury Cross Indoor Bowls Club on Sunday 14th wrapping up an extremely successful season.

All the rinks were full, with a few members sharing positions to ensure everyone played. This match seemed very special with a buzz about it. Everyone turned up well before to book in, with loads of smiley faces and the hubbub of chatter. A large number of prizes for the raffle covered three tables, including a special prize of a bumper hamper supplied by Terry. He requested it should be drawn on number 29. Poor Janet was trying to count the numbers as they were called, and check her own tickets, while trying to calculate the stupendous financial takings for the day, adding to the previous charity taking for the year took the total to over £1000.00 for Katherine House Hospice.

Thank you to Julia for sharing the rink with Linda, on top of everything else you were involved with.

Four members of the youth academy took part for the first time and played exceptionally well in front of their proud parents.

The result was within 10 shots after two hours so well done to all players.

Best Regards

Tony Smith (Men’s Captain)

Please Note: There will still be the rollups this coming Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 19th when the rinks will close for the season.
